ON THE WATER
Water activities are a big part of a summer with Hidden Meadows. On any given day campers can be found swimming in our pond, canoeing and sailing at nearby Lake Buffalo, white water rafting the New River Gorge or knee deep in our own stream learning about aquatic life.
SAILING
A few minutes from camp, Lake Buffalo offers a good breeze, beautiful views and the occasional bald eagle spotting. Our fleet of sailboats includes easily handled Snarks and the ever-popular Sunfish. We take a non-competitive approach and savor this free ride from nature.

CANOEING AND KAYAKING
Canoeing and kayaking give a chance to unwind and take in some beautiful scenery. Gliding quietly through the water we refine our paddling techniques and relish the occasional friendly canoe race.
SWIMMING
"One more time on the water slide!" or "Did you see that jump she got off the raft" is some of the buzz you will hear when it comes to cooling off in Hidden Meadow's pond. Swimming is strictly recreational and a chance to relax in the sun and water. As with all of our aquatic activities swimming is offered under the supervision of our lifeguards.

WHITE WATER RAFTING Campers Entering grades 7 to 11
The New River Gorge, designated as "Wild and Scenic" under special environmental protection, is our destination and the New River is the site for our paddling excitement. Nothing can match the thrill of successfully negotiation the hottest runs in the East. Plunging off of "River Rock," soaking in the sun and maneuvering our raft through the whitewater is an adventure we won't soon forget. Reserved for ages campers entering grades 7-11. We depart in the morning and return that evening.
STREAM EXPLORATION
Do you know what colorful fish is primarily found in the Greenbrier river system, makes its home in our back yard and is currently under the watchful eye of environmentalist? Etheostoma osburni, the Candy Darter, is just one of the many discoveries you will make during our stream explorations. For some it is just a good excuse to play in the river, but you will be surprised at what lurks in these waters.
